It is important to make valuable decisions while shopping for foods, medicines, hygiene products, and cleaning products. I feel you should buy what you need and do not bulk up on items. Think about your community and how many other people will need to shop for the same items.

Food shopping for fresh fruits and vegetables is needed, but there are other options like frozen vegetables, canned vegetables, beans, and fish (Low sodium) that will have a longer shelf life. These items should always be stocked at home.

Medicines that you should always have are Tylenol, and Cough syrup, in addition, to keeping a medical emergency kit that includes basic medical necessities that may be needed in case of an accident.

As far as household products it is important to have at house disinfectant to clean surfaces daily. Toilet paper, Kleenex, and hand soap are essential items as well (buy what you need). Hand sanitizer is also an essential item if you have no hand sanitizer, or household disinfectant spray you can make your own.

Do not buy WIC approve products. There are families that depend on their WIC for food instead buy things that are not WIC approved. Once WIC approved items are depleted in the grocery store people with WIC will have nothing to buy.

Keep a filtered water pitcher, save your bottled water for emergency purposes, stay hydrated.
