Being happy is up to you! I wouldn’t say money can make you happy or having everything you want can make you happy. Happiness comes from within you, having a strong spiritual sense can also bring the happiness you need. It’s all about connecting with your soul and understanding how we can bring out more of our happy vibes through understanding how our, hormones work in connection to our moods.
We have four happy hormones:
The hormone that makes you feel good, it is a hormone and a neurotransmitter that is tied to the wants of rewards. Working out can set your Dopamine off, that is why working out can become addicting. All animal products, almonds, apples, avocado, bananas, beets, chocolate, coffee ETC…………. can release your dopamine. Be mindful of how you choose to receive things that make you feel good because seeking it from places like social media or wanting to eat cake every day can make you feel good but can be unhealthy.
Serotonin is responsible for moods. It is also a neurotransmitter and hormone that controls our nerves in several of our body systems. For example sleep, memory, digestion, learning something new, and keeping anxiety and depression away. To release Serotonin, get a massage, sunlight, meditate, or go for a nature walk can all help.
Endorphins are your pleasurable hormones, it is responsible for how your body receives pain and pleasure, the stimuli come from eating dark chocolate, music or art, having a glass of wine, laughing, or having sex, you can activate your natural reward system with these activities. Releasing your endorphins can relieve stress and give you a feeling of euphoria.
Oxytocin is the cuddle or love hormone it is released when people are connecting socially especially deep connections. Oxytocin is a bonding hormone that makes us feel attached to someone. So, spend time with your partner or your loved one!
